Questions

What logs can I paste?+

Anything text-based from a Linux server: dmesg and kernel messages, journalctl / systemd output, nginx or Apache error logs, Docker container logs, MySQL or PostgreSQL logs, and application logs such as Laravel, Node.js or Django stack traces. Up to 8 KB at a time — the lines around the first error are usually enough.

Is it safe to paste production logs?+

Passwords, API keys, tokens, private keys, connection-string credentials, email addresses and IP addresses are masked before the text is sent to the AI, and the pasted text is never stored or logged. Even so, remove anything you would not share with a colleague.

What if the log doesn’t show the cause?+

The explainer says “can’t tell from this excerpt” and lists exactly which extra output would settle it, instead of guessing. Logs often show the symptom (a 502) while the cause lives elsewhere (php-fpm was killed for memory).

How is this different from Opservo itself?+

This tool explains one excerpt you paste. Opservo watches every log on your servers continuously, groups repeating errors, explains them as they happen, links them to what changed, and can apply the fix with your approval.
