How do you monitor a CloudPanel server?

Add server monitoring to a CloudPanel server: install the Opservo agent over SSH as root in about 30 seconds. Requirements and what you see afterwards.

In short

CloudPanel manages sites, PHP and databases; Opservo explains what is happening on the server underneath. CloudPanel has no feature for running your own script as root, so install the Opservo agent over SSH as root: one command, about 30 seconds, and nothing changes in CloudPanel. The agent opens no inbound port.

What do you need?

  • •A CloudPanel server (Ubuntu or Debian, x86 or ARM64, with systemd)
  • •Root SSH access, the same access you used to install CloudPanel. Site users cannot install it, because the agent is a system service
  • •An Opservo workspace; Free covers up to 2 servers
  • •Outbound HTTPS (port 443) to api.getopservo.com

How do you install it?

In Opservo, click Add a new server, then Generate install command. The token in it works once and expires after one hour. SSH to the server as root and run it:

curl -sSL https://api.getopservo.com/install.sh | sudo env OPSERVO_API_URL=https://api.getopservo.com OPSERVO_TOKEN=<token> bash

What do you see afterwards?

Each server gets a 0–100 health score and findings with the command that fixes them: CPU, memory, disk and load; systemd services such as nginx, PHP-FPM, MySQL or MariaDB and Redis; listening ports; security checks; and kernel-log errors. Domains and SSL expiry are read from the standard nginx config folders. For any site the agent does not list, add an uptime monitor, which checks it from outside and tracks the certificate.

Does it change anything in CloudPanel?+

No. The agent is a separate systemd service. It is read-only by default and never reads .env files.

Can Opservo run fixes on the server?+

Only if you opt the server in with OPSERVO_ENABLE_ACTIONS=true on the box, on a paid plan. Every command is confirmed and audited.

How do you remove it?+

Run curl -sSL https://api.getopservo.com/install.sh | sudo env OPSERVO_UNINSTALL=1 bash, then remove or archive the server in the fleet table.
